For a long time, velvet has been represented a soft touch, a graceful texture, a gentle love. Only now, velvet makes a cool turn on fall runway. From black to amethyst, from off-shoulder top to deep-V dress, velvet’s proven to be the material which is soft enough to give the edgiest look a romantic touch, yet cool enough to bring out the powerful spirit from the most feminine heritage.

The biggest hit this summer? Black! Still! Not a long time ago, I wrote a post Never a winter without black. Yes, black was quite a trend on fall 2012 runway. When I finally moved onto write spring trends, I was surprised. Firstly, summer breezes slowly on the runway, almost too slow. We can still find lots of leather jackets, maxi coats, over-the-knee boots,…, again, isn’t it always on spring runway. Secondly, black hit the runway, heavily. It’s like a big fashion party, and the dress code is-black only. If you are a lover of black, now is the time to work the black magic.
